When was the last time you were able to catch a really decent motorcycle show on TV, or anywhere else for that matter? You can’t remember? Last year? Yesterday? Today? Well, it doesn’t matter, because one more good motorcycle show is always welcome.
Retro Moto, a show in the making and yet to be adopted, really promises a lot. The crew behind the project is put together in the same manner as Danny Ocean would have done – there’s a dedicated expert in charge of each part of the show making process. The show’s creator, John Lawless, is a classic bike collector and racer; Ed Buffman, a former dirt track racer and photographer is in charge of capturing the Sun rays through a camera lens; directing and editing role in this undertaking is taken by Shel Brown of NBC who is also a classic bike collector; and finally, to host the show, there is Matt Smith, vintage bike restorer and collector.
The show trailer looks really promising, because, as it shows, it does not approach the motorbike as a pure object, but as a center of the culture that grew around it. Vintage racing, restoring, road riding, small city block parties, it’s all there. Let’s hope the make it.
