The Yoshimura Suzuki team has confirmed that it will contest three rounds of the 2010 Superbike World Championship, at Assen, Imola and the season finale in Magny-Cours.
The experienced Yukio Kagayama, a four time SBK race winner, will run at Assen and Magny-Cours, while his fellow Japanese rider Daisaku Sakai will be the rider at the Imola round of the series, in September. Sakai was second in the All Japan Road Race Championship for Yoshimura Suzuki last year.
The Imola SBK ride will be Sakai’s first taste of competition outside Japan, but he has ridden in international events while in his native land.
He has competed in several Suzuka 8H Endurance races, and won it last year with Yoshimura Suzuki (photo). He also raced in a 250 Grand Prix at Suzuka in 2002, where he finished second.
