The race to nail the first ever Backflip jump on a Harley-Davidson was between Chuck Carothers in Prague, Chech Republic and Kain Saul in Austalia. Both riders used Harely-Davidson XR1200’s yet Chuck used a stock bike while Kain Saul modified his with Motocross tires and suspension. Either way an amazing stunt by both yet I have to say even though Kain Saul modified his bike he landed the jump where Chuck Carothers didn’t. The Harely is ot exactly the most nimble or lightest bike to be jumping around on. Let us know who you think deserved it in the comment sections below.

you would have to give it to both of them for guts, but did you see how smooth that Kain Saul did it man that was great and i herd that he had never even ridden the bike until the day before the jump.PS and he landed it.
Dear readers , the bike flipped was not Seth Enslows highly modified xr1200 as thought by some,
We have several xr 1200’s and this one has stock rear suspension from a 2009 xr not the fancy shocks from the 2010 x model , it has heavier front forks and a strengthened triple as Seth has insisted on all our bikes for rider safety.
The web and blog coverage of all our long distance jumping and back flip planning over the last 18 months has obviously been an inspiration to chuck.
Get your facts right , and at least get the jump right , All Aussie motorcycle riders don’t make excuses for anything , We are planning lots more for xr1200 Harleys we love them .
Ballsy effort you must be a goer, love your passion I applaud that !!!

Gavin,
Thanks for the clarification. If you have specifications/pictures on the XR1200 used for the jump it would be much appreciated. Huge props to both riders for the amazing jump.
Thank,
Brian Christner

Both jumps took balls, but you gotta stick it to claim it.
As for any inferred cheating? You rig your ride like you intend to ride it, that’s just good sense. I ride a cruiser, and I avoid gravely, nasty roads. Not because my bike would break on them, because it’s not appropriate to the task. Stunt jumping on street parts is going to get a person hurt, it’s just not smart.
