MOTO2: Suter Racing Technology Announce MOTO2 Plans for 2010 Season

Suter Racing Technology Moto2 Project,Chassis specialists Suter Racing Technology (SRT) presented their Moto2 plans over the weekend at Misano, stating their intention to participate in the new category in 2010.

The company have stated that a Laglisse YM2 Yamaha R6-powered Moto2 bike, featuring a rolling chassis design and manufactured by Suter Racing Technology, has achieved good results during testing and they intend to launch a complete Moto2 project.

They will have their first finalised SRT MMX Moto2 prototpye 2010 bikes ready for testing at the end of October 2009 with bikes ready for delivery to teams from mid-December.

While the Moto2 bikes will have engines provided by Honda, the rest of the bike is up to the respective teams to produce, with SRT offering their customers the full package of electronics, frame, suspension, exhaust, fairing, brakes, wheels and so on. The company has previously had a presence in the premier class of the World Championship with Kawasaki and Ilmor.

SRT’s CEO Eskil Suter stated, “We are sure that we can offer a very competitive Moto2 package to all teams. Due to our huge experience in design and building of GP motorcycles, our ability to build the complete bike in-house will ensure our future at the top of the Moto2 class. Not only from a performance and design point of view, but also in terms of quality and a fair price level.”
