SV650 Project Bike Day at the Track – Video

It has been a long process to get to this point of the project.  Well D-Day has finally arrived and time to put the SV650 Project Bike and all the new parts to the test.  The day before the test I installed the Galfer Front Wave discs and pads called the “Galfer Front Speed Kit” from SportBikeShop.co.uk.  Also, installed for the track day was Zero Gravity Double Bubble front Windscreen.  I installed both of these parts very easily and really changes the look of the bike (Pictures to follow).

After installed the new brake discs and Double Bubble I took the bike out for a test ride.  As advertised I broke the rotors in and made sure everything was working as should.  The braking feel was dramatically improved as well as the  pure breaking performance.  The double bubble also makes a huge difference to move the wind from hitting my chest to about the middle of my visor now.  If I go full tuck I can then get my big frame completely hidden from the wind.

The day of the track day was amazing at the historic Formula 1 circuit Zandvoort by the Sea.  This was the first time in my riding career that I was able to get my knee down and then get both knees down shortly later which is recorded in this video.  The SV650 lived up to expectations and overall very good day of improvement from both rider and machine.  Comparing from previous track days with the SV650 it definitely is easier to turn in and braking is much better.  However, suspension is still not quite right.  The next step would be to replace the rear shock and put fork emulators in the front.

Let us know what you think of our video.  The original video I uploaded had much better music but the do gooders at YouTube banned the movie due to music copyright issues.
