Schumacher still ready to take on Rossi on any number of wheels

Schumacher Motorcycle racingEven though former Ferrari champion and F1 legend, Michael Schumacher, has ruled out racing for Honda in the 2009 World Superbike Championship, the German star has admitted that he would love to match wits against MotoGP legend, Valentino Rossi.

Rossi, who secured the 2008 title with Yamaha after a two year absence at the top of the standings, has recently taken part in the British Rally as well as undergoing several tests for the Ferrari Formula One team. As such, Schumacher, who celebrated his fortieth birthday on Saturday, would love to challenge the Italian in a stadium race.

“I’d love to take him on in a stadium race, cars and bikes, that would be fun,” he was quoted as saying. “Given that Valentino is quick in cars, as he showed on the Rally of Great Britain and when he has tested an F1 Ferrari, as well as being so brilliant on a motorcycle it would be a pleasure to take him on. I think I could give him a good run on motorbikes. I really enjoy stadium racing such as the Race of Champions at Wembley in London a couple of weeks ago, and it would be a great challenge.”
