Taking to the Arizona back roads to test the 2008 BMW R 1200 Adventure was quite a nice treat. Espically since back home right now it is snowing and nasty in Arizona it was t-shirt weather. Having rode about 250 miles around the Arizona moutains you quickly adjust to the size of the BMW Adventure. The responsive handling and comfortable riding postion allows touring for great distance without wearing out the rider. With plenty of useable torque and great handling also makes this bike easy to navigate the mountain twistys. Slow manuevering is also very easy with the wide bars which gives confidence in parking lots and U-turns. In the dirt the bike is suprisingly easy to handle yet you don’t ride it like a lighter dual sport bike. You quickly notice the weight when the dirt or sand gets deep as you have to muscle the big bike around. Overall if you plan on doing Adventure touring hands down this is a great bike with service intervals that dont hender your riding.
